Kadungalloor Service Co-Operative Bank has had a simple start in 1943 as Kadungalloor Multipurpose Co-Operative Society in a rented building with an Authorised Share Capital of Rs. 6.25. Subsequently State Government has allotted 8 cents of land to the society. In 1952 the then Co-Operative Registrar Shri. K. Gopalan Nair has inaugurated the building constructed in the said land and the society started functioning in the new building. Further the society has bought 20 cents of land adjacent to it.
In 1960 the status of the society has got up graded and become Co-Operative bank. Then the bank found that the facilities in the existing building was insufficient to meet requirements of its customers, the then Director Board has started thinking about a new building and as a result on 21/02/1981 then then MLA Shri. K. Mohammed Ali had laid the foundation stone for the new 3 storied building.
The bank has got class IV Audit Classification in the year 1974, Class II classification in the year 1976. It became Class I in 1979, and Special Grade in the year 1994. When super grade classification introduced in the year 2013. Bank became the first bank in the District to have Super Grade Audit Classifcation. The bank also enjoying the A grade Audit Classification.
The ares of operation of the bank extends to East Kadungalloor Kara, Elookkara, Kayantikkara, Kunjinikkara, Uliyannoorkara, Eramamkara & Edayarkara of Kadungalloor Village and Pathalam kara & Kuttikkattukara of Eloor Municipality. The bank is able to advance loans against the properties situated in North Paravoor, Aluva, Kunnathunadu and Kanayannoor Thaluk of Ernakulam District.
At present the bank is having 4 branches. The Bank started its first branch in Kuttikkattukara in the year 1989. Uliyannoor Branch was started in the year 2003, Eramam Branch in the year 2009 and Elookkara Branch in the year2015.
